Compressed Diaper Container Loading Guide

Diapers are bulky. A full container of uncompressed baby diapers is mostly air — and every cubic meter of air costs you freight. Compressed packing solves this by vacuum-compressing the product before it is packed into the carton. The result: far more pieces per 40HQ and a materially lower freight cost per unit.

What does "compressed" mean in practice?

Compression is a packing step, not a product change. The diaper is produced normally, then compressed under controlled pressure in the packaging machine, which reduces its thickness significantly before the film is sealed. The absorbent core is not damaged — SAP granules and fluff structure recover their loft once the pack is opened.

The numbers buyers should compare

Industry-standard loading for baby diapers in a 40HQ is roughly 350,000–420,000 pieces, depending on size and pack configuration. With compressed packing, that figure rises to 737,500 pieces — about 1.9× more product per container. Freight is charged per container, so your cost per unit falls in the same proportion.

What changes on your side

What to verify before you commit

  • Ask for a loading count for your exact SKU — counts vary by size and pack count.
  • Confirm the compression ratio used and request a physical sample of a compressed pack.
  • Check whether the factory can load compressed and standard packs in one mixed container.

Compressed packing is one of the few supplier features that shows up directly on your P&L. If a supplier quotes it, verify it with a trial container — the math works in your favor.
